Re: Giroud ?
No surprise the likes of Nacho and Giroud are not keen on us after the craven way we played against their teams at the OS last season.

Re: Giroud ?
As others may have said already, can't be too surprised that the likes of Giroud wouldnt have us a first choice destination as things stand right now. Last thing we need is another Frenchman with he hump to deal with. Move along.

Re: Giroud ?
The article in the OP suggests we had been talking to his agent and that we are seen as a good option, but fair point as we don't know how accurate it is?
We shall see where he ends up but I feel the club should be in position to sign players like him now and that the owners have not positioned us where we should be a year on from the move.

surely it depends on his decision making? he is hardly going to chose us over a team playing CL, if that's his wish, is he? equally if he and his missus want to move back to france how are we supposed to compete with that?

Re: Giroud ?
Not sure it is true that he doesn't want to come, if so then Is it wages, ambition or simply our status? Anyway they spin it it does not reflect well on the club or the owners as our club with our fanbase and s big new ground should be able to attract players like a 30 year old Giroud if the ambition was there.

Re: Giroud ?
London is a pull for many foreign players compared to Stoke or Burnley.
We have an advantage over some but are miles less attractive than what you would regard as bigger or successful clubs ... Man C & U, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal & Chelsea.
Beyond that I think our ground , manager & owners don't gain us any advantage and many would see them as a negative i.e. Koeman v Bilic for example in the case of managers

Re: Giroud ?
Don't agree that we are an 'also ran' - why would players like Hernandez and Arnautovic consider us? They won't end up at Burnley and want to LEAVE decent sized clubs for us.

The problem is that we want world class talent but are not as big as Spurs, Liverpool, United, City, Chelsea, Aresenal plus other foreign clubs - therefore really talented players have reservations about becoming a Hammer.

Re: Giroud ?
Its quite sad the owners used the stadium to excite the fans so they could fill their pockets.

No players want to play for a team that has an unsecure manager and embarrasing owners like ours.

They want a proper manager, a team thats hungry for success/chasing honours, the fans to be close to the pitch playing in a purpose built stadium and a fat salary of course. What can we offer exactly? The biggest digital wrap around bigger than bayern munichs - yes thats exactly how embarrasing our club has become in the space of a year

Seems you and him have something in common, son?

Re: Giroud ?
I thought the whole point of the OS move was the attract the top players. seems this isnt the case then and the players have no interest in playing in our iconic stadium.

Re: Giroud ?
The way you spin it Willtell, why would Giroud want to play for us even if he wasn't a snobby Frenchman?

Ha Ha ha… the only reason he would have come to us is that Hackney is FULL to the brim of cunts that look exactly like him… the Hipster Bearded cunt

or pay ridiculous wages like Man City did with the likes of Aguero, Yaya Toure, Silva etc and we all know there's not much chance of that happening for the foreseeable

Willtell 1:57 Fri Jul 14
Re: Giroud ?
Giroud is French and living among them I can vouch that they are more snobbish than Brits are supposed to be. Giroud really does think that he is too good for an insignificant club like WH. It was also what Payet came to realise. Hart is only coming because he is getting desperate.

Doesn't matter that we moved to a big stadium. WH is an also ran in the football hierarchy run by a couple of classless spivs. To change our image we need to win things. I can't see that happening under the present owners but you never know. We might get lucky...

more accurate translation is "Giroud was never interested in west ham"
or "west ham are no longer interested in Giroud because they may actually have to spend some money".

West Ham have ended their interest in Olivier Giroud. They made the decision right after Giroud told them to piss off & stop bothering him.
